Ironworks is a micro-distillery named after the building it is in, a 1893 marine blacksmith’s shop heritage building. All fruit ingredients are sourced in Nova Scotia. This includes apples, pears, berries, and maple syrup. The rum base is Crosby’s Molasses from Saint John, New Brunswick and the corn ethanol for liqueurs comes from Quebec
Hot water is recylced by the company through the wood fired still used to heat the fermation room's floors, as well as for cleaning. Ironworks has a current goal for their newest still to become totally closed water cooling system.
Glass is sourced through Saver Glass in France rather than from China. The higher expense gurantees higher standards. Beverages are never in plastic, and packaging is always paper not plastic.
