You can sign-up through the service Auth0 (which has a sign-up with Google option), which you can access from 'Login or Sign-up' the side bar. Please change your display name in your profile settings, otherwise it defaults to your email.
Businesses must not create or edit wiki pages about themselves or competitors. Read more here.
Wiki.js is an open source service not written by me, I just manage this instance called OurCanadianWiki. There is great documentation by the original developer on getting started as a contributor.
When creating a new page ALWAYS choose Markdown as the editor. If you are unfamiliar with Markdown, check out this page. Explore an established page, such as Ironworks Distillery, to get an idea of the format. Ironworks has helpful comments if you view the source.
Please only write objectively about companies (no opinions). Anything that is disputable should have a source, but don't stress it. Note that currently tags are only being used to indicate province ('bc', 'on', 'sk') and to indicate indigenous- or black-owned ('ind', 'black').
There is lots of data entry that you'll see. If it looks tedious that's because it is, so ignore things like finding social media links if you want to. I have code that will find data for us, or notify me directly to track it down.
Don't worry about adding any page you make to the relevant table of contents. As long as you put it in a folder, I have scripts that will update every so often and rewrite the the Table of Contents to include all pages.
Anything beneath the Todo header on these pages will be preserved, so feel free to add any websites there you would like someone to write a page on. Or if you don't want to make an account, make a suggestion to an admin.
Each page will need to be individually translated to French. I will try to figure out a best way to organize this. I do not speak French, so anybody that can should contact an admin.
